Most smokers start smoking as children. In Wales, the average age smokers start is between 11 and 12. However, as adults, an overwhelming majority of smokers say they wish they could quit, and up to half of all smokers make a quit attempt each year with varying degrees of success. The simple fact is that smoking isn’t an informed adult decision.

For most people, it is an addiction developed in childhood. However, it is possible to quit smoking, and there are a number of routes to do so. The important thing to remember is that it is possible to quit smoking even if it takes you several attempts. Keep trying and don’t quit on quitting!
