Eisteddfod Genedlaethol 2012
ASH Wales is joining forces with Tenovus at this year's National Eisteddfod to highlight the increased risk of cancer through smoking, and raising awareness about the importance of 'smokefree homes' which is part of a national campaign to bring smoking rates down to 16% by 2020.
We will also be promoting Wales's first ever smoking cessation service for 11-25 years olds which will be launched by ASH Wales in the autumn of 2012 following our successful BIG Lottery bid. We hope to engage with youngsters on the Maes about the dangers of addiction and encourage them to access our unique service offering advice and support about quitting smoking through social media, texting and an evening helpline.
As part of our initiatives to protect young people from the dangers of tobacco we will also be encouraging people to support our 'plain packs protect' campaign by signing the UK-wide petition which closes on August 10th.
